Belonging to the Darwin hybrid group of tulips, known for their sturdy stems and a flush of contrasting colour, Tulipa 'Salmon van Eijk' does not disappoint. Appearing in April, flowers are large, single, and cup-shaped, in lavish salmon pink, with a rose-pink flush. Stems are particularly sturdy, able to withstand wind and April showers. 'Salmon van Eijk' combines well with other April-flowering, pastel-coloured tulips such as 'Silk Road' and 'Light and Dreamy'. An ideal choice for a sunny border or container. Tulips make excellent cut flowers, lasting up to three weeks in the vase.Originating from hot, dry habitats, tulips prefer fertile, sharply drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Excessive wet will not be tolerated. H&S: 50cm x 15cm. Hardy bulbous perennial.
