Tell Me More...
A femme fatale that will entice you into the garden each spring, Tulipa 'Marilyn' will charm your borders and containers each spring, while enticing bees and other pollinators for an early nectar-rich taster. Also known as a ‘Fluted Tulip’, the crisp white petals, which stylishly reflex, are marked with fascinating, lipstick-red streaks. A long-lasting cut flower, Tulipa 'Marilyn' makes a charismatic and appealing addition to your indoor arrangements in April and May. Brilliant, vibrant and cheerful as your garden stirs from its winter slumber. Warm weather and better times are heralded by the arrival of the tulip. Tulip bulbs are planted in the autumn before the ground freezes, though planting in containers in January and February can still bring blooms. Seeing the green shoots from a tulip bulb emerging from the once frozen ground gives you optimism and hope. Tulipa 'Marilyn' prefers to be grown in any well-drained soil in a sunny spot, where it will reach a height of 40-55cm, spreading 10-15cm. A hardy tuberous perennial, it will return year after year.
