Tell Me More...
A delicious looking bloom, reminiscent of blackberries and custard, which will lend its beautiful hues to the garden in April each year. Tulipa 'Gavota' is a Triumph variety, and these are renowned for their broad colour range and iconic shape - something typified by this stunner. The Royal Horticultural Society have bestowed the Award of Garden Merit upon Tulipa 'Gavota' for its dependability and outstanding performance in the garden, so we reckon it is sure to be a hit with you too. The bicoloured blooms are distinctly marked on the exterior with a triangle of deep red from the base towards to tip, which is edged by creamy yellow, the interior is more yellow with touches of purple at the bottom. Plant in containers, rockeries and open ground where they make a fantastic 'en masse' display. Furthermore, the classically shaped tulip blooms are perfect for pollinators and make a marvellous inclusion in a vase.Prefers to be planted in well-drained soil in full sun and is a hardy, bulbous perennial. Grows to 50cm in height with an individual spread up to 15cm.
