A member of the Lily-flowered group of tulips, Tulipa 'Fire Wings' is a single, goblet-shaped flower with a dazzling colour combination of golden yellow streaked with scarlet. Flowers appear in late spring (April to May) and are particularly weather resistant; their sturdy stems meaning they stand up well to April showers. Try pairing with the similarly slender, deep red 'Lasting Love' variety for a rich, fiery combination. Ideal for a sunny border or spring-interest container display. Tulips make excellent cut flowers, lasting for up to 3 weeks in the vase. Originating from hot, dry habitats, tulips prefer fertile, sharply drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Excessive wet will not be tolerated. H&S: 60cm x 15cm. Hardy bulbous perennial.
