Belonging to the Parrot group of tulips, Tulipa 'Cracker Parrot' has dark pink flowers with edges flushed white, and the merest hint of green. Parrot tulips are notable for their large, single, cup-shaped flowers with fringed petals, as well as impressive height. On a sunny day, flowers will open so wide they almost flatten out, revealing the colour and detail in full glory. Tulips are an ideal choice for bringing spring colour to a sunny border. This group are among the last to flower, in late spring. Pair with earlier varieties for an extended display, such as 'Vanilla Cream', or 'Exotic Emperor'. Originating from hot, dry habitats, tulips prefer fertile, sharply drained soil in full sun. With taller varieties such as 'Cracker Parrot', it is important to provide shelter from strong winds. Excessive wet will not be tolerated. H&S: 60cm x 15cm. Hardy bulbous perennial.
