Tell Me More...
A rich, violet blue Fringed variety of tulip which is darker towards its centre with paler, frilled edges. Tulipa 'Blue Heron' has a gently curved, open cup-shaped flower which has a magical silvery hued interior. A new and unusual bloom which emerges in April to May and reaches up to 60cm in height. Happy in containers, woven through lawns or taking pride of place in the border. Not only will the flowers pull in the pollinators they are drought tolerant enough to be planted in rockeries and gravel gardens too. Plant with other cooler hued blooms for a blended impact, or with rich reds and yellows for a striking contrast- either way this AGM holding beauty is sure to make an impact.Tulipa 'Blue Heron' prefers to be planted in a spot with well-drained soil in full sun with any aspect other than north facing. A hardy, bulbous perennial which individually spreads up to 15cm.
