Beautiful blooms for half of the yearTouches of the unusual, such as our Tulbaghia hybrida Aromatic Duo, can elevate a garden to greatness. Star-shaped flowers are borne atop tall, upright stems on this bulbous perennial from South Africa, prized for its exceptionally floriferous and long flowering habit (June right through until November). Foliage is grey-green, narrow, and strap-like, with a distinct aroma of garlic. Indeed, the leaves of this onion family member can be used for culinary purposes. Our collection comprises of: - 'Ashanti'; large, showy flowers in pale purple. - 'Kilimanjaro'; pale purple flowers with a cream centre. Prefer well-draining soil in full sun. H&S: 50cm x 50cm. Half-hardy (to -5 C) perennial. Will overwinter in milder parts of the country, elsewhere provide frost protection, or grow in a container and move undercover during colder months.
