Prized for its neat, clump-forming habit, Tradescantia 'Osprey' is a hardy variety which, from late spring to late summer, bears large, frosty white flowers with charming, fluffy blue filaments protruding from the centre. Arching, narrow, slightly fleshy, evergreen leaves form a neat, dense thicket, nestled among which are the distinctive, open, three-petaled flowers. Each individual flower is short-lived, though borne profusely in succession for months on end. Spent flowers are shed naturally (also referred to as 'self-cleaning'), meaning there is no need for deadheading. Tolerant of a range of conditions, this hardy tradescantia is an easy way to achieve year-round structure and summer colour in beds, borders, and containers. Prefer moist, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. H&S: 60cm x 60cm. Hardy, evergreen perennial.
