Tell Me More...
Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘Winter Ruby’, commonly known as winter jasmine or star jasmine, is a versatile evergreen climber renowned for its striking foliage and fragrant flowers. Glossy, oval-shaped leaves start with a rich, vibrant, ruby red hue before maturing to deep green, creating a dynamic, colourful display all year-round. In summer, clusters of star-shaped, white flowers are produced, exuding a sweet, jasmine-like fragrance, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, ‘Winter Ruby’ prefers well-drained soil and is moderately drought-tolerant once established. It is a vigorous grower, capable of reaching heights of up to 2m with support, making it ideal for trellises, fences, and pergolas. Additionally, it can be used as a ground cover or grown in containers for smaller spaces. Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘Winter Ruby’ is relatively low maintenance, requiring occasional pruning to maintain its shape and encourage healthy growth.
