An unusual and showy perennial, Teucrium hircanium has aromatic, semi-evergreen foliage which is retained all year in milder parts of the UK. This foliage offers excellent, clump forming, ground covering and highly beneficial weed suppression. Then, from June to September, comes the 'main performance' when candle-like spikes of flowers emerge and offer upright blazes of colour that pull in the pollinators. A perfect way to add summer and autumn colour to a sunny wildlife garden, yet equally happy in a partly shaded plot and will even grow in container. Teucrium hircanium also makes and excellent choice for a cutting garden as flowers make a valuable, long-lasting addition to floral displays and bouquets. Teucrium hircanium prefers to be planted in well-drained soil which benefits from either full sun or part shade. A hardy perennial which requires no winter protection except in the very harshest of winters. Will reach height of 75cm with a spread of 60cm.
