Tell Me More...
Delicious and nutritious with a touch of ‘oo-la-la’ An exciting new arrival for 2024 which has a modern twist on the classical French Marigold with its bushy, dwarfing habit and generous, double flowers from May to October. Tagetes patula ‘Strawberry Blonde’ is not only a floriferous beauty; plants also produce tasty, edible blooms which have a mild citrus taste and look fabulous added to salads or used to decorate puddings and cakes. With built-in whitefly resistance, these are robust plants which lend orange, peach and bronze tones to pots, baskets and borders, and their drought tolerance once they have established mean they will happily grown in dry gardens and rockeries too. Native to Africa, Tagetes patula ‘Strawberry Blonde’ likes a spot in full sun or partial shade which benefits from a well-drained soil of any type. A vigorous plant which reaches a height and spread of 20-30cm. Plants are tender annuals which will fade once the first frost appear and should be composted dow
