Sustained and scented spectacleA much-loved addition to your garden, lilac first gained popularity during Edwardian times and was prized for its robust, reliable performance. Syringa Bloomerang Dark Purple has all the best assets of the common lilac with the additional benefit of flowering twice each year. Highly fragrant panicles of deep purple-pink blooms will appear above the mid-green, ovate leaves in late spring and then again from midsummer to autumn. So Bloomerang will give you a double delivery of the delicious scent - inviting more bees, butterflies and other pollinators to your garden than ever before! Syringa Bloomerang Dark Purple also makes great groundcover as it will reach a height and spread of 1.5m in 10-20 years and it holds its foliage from spring through to the first frosts. Best planted in full sun with moist, well-drained soil, requires annual pruning for optimum performance. This sturdy shrub is hardy to H6 and makes and excellent cut flower.
