Symphyotrichum novi-belgii ‘Fellowship’ bursts into a frenzy of activity, with clusters of semi-double and double blooms held on upright stems from August through to October. Often called the Michaelmas Daisy, botanically they are a relative of the wild daisy and are easy going plants, ideal for beginners as well as busy, experienced gardeners. The flowers are much loved by our pollinating friends who will visit to take advantage of the nectar-rich feast on offer. A traditional and popular bloom with florists, symphyotrichum also make excellent cut flowers for your home with just a few stems able to fill a small vase and bring a colourful welcome indoors.Symphyotrichum novi-belgii ‘Fellowship’ has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for its dependable and outstanding performance in the garden. Plants are joyously unfussy on soil conditions, preferring a spot in full sun or partial shade. A hardy (H6) herbaceous perennial which matures to a height of approximately 90cm, spreading to 75cm.
