Huge, bright green, shuttlecock-like fronds unfurl each spring, naturalising easily if left. Prefers humus-rich, moist, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil, in partial or light dappled shade. Hardy, herbaceous perennial.Polystichum polyblepharum - Height 80cm, spread 90cm. Evergreen finely divided, ferny foliage with a coating of golden hairs when young. Prefers full or partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Fully hardy perennial. Osmunda regalis - Height 2.5m, spread 4m. A stunning giant fern. Lush, leaves unfurl to make bright green fronds turning bronze in autumn. Prefers moist soil in sun or shade. Fully hardy perennial.
