Comprising three varieties; Muscari Grape Ice - a stunning ombre effect of pure white merging into deep and dusky purple with a hint of olive, gives this unusual grape hyacinth its name; Muscari latifolium AGM - an azure-blue head sits atop a cluster of navy blooms, giving this unusual hybrid of grape hyacinth its common name, the 'Oxford and Cambridge' grape hyacinth; Muscari armeniacum Julia - small snowy white blooms top lime green buds and blooms of rich blue. Muscari is often referred to as the Grape Hyacinth because the close packed flowers resemble a cross between a miniature hyacinth and a bunch of grapes. The name Muscari comes from the Greek word for musk, referring to the delicate scent. Gardeners love this spring flowering bulb because they grow in borders, through a lawn, in shady spots, a woodland setting, under shrubs and in window boxes. A true versatile and easy bulbous perennial to grow. Fully hardy with an RHS rating of H6, no winter protection will be required.
