Tell Me More...
The Japanese Saxifraga is a shade loving perennial. Saxifraga delights with decorative vivid green foliage and wonderful bright flowers. What gardeners love about Saxifraga are the vibrant flowers which appear late in the year - from September to December. Should you have a shaded spot in your garden which is moist, then Saxifraga is an ideal plant to grow. In their natural environment Saxifraga grow in woodland, therefore they thrive under trees and near large shrubs. The name Saxifraga is a Latin name and translates as 'The Rock Breaker', due to the ancient medicinal use of the plant to create a potion which can dissolve kidney stones. Not something we would recommend, though for late season colour, ease of growth, shade loving and attractiveness, Saxifraga is clearly one to grow. In this collection are three varieties of Saxifraga which will look charming and brighten up a darker part of your garden. Saxifraga Ayaka produces vivid green foliage and vibrant scarlet flowers; Saxifraga Yuki creates an abundance of white star shaped flowers; Saxifraga Syuri has light green foliage and soft baby pink flowers. Three magnificent and stylish Saxifraga for you to enjoy.
