Tell Me More...
A carefully chosen trio of collaborative blooms which are ideal for a tricky spot seeking a splash of colour. The flowers of Spangled Astrantia major Collection commence flowering in June and continue, with a little deadheading, through to August time. They emerge on tall, wiry stems above decorative mounds of ferny foliage which emerges in March and is held until October for gap-filling, weed-suppressing verdant interest. The blooms are much loved by bees, butterflies and other pollinators so make an ideal inclusion in a wildlife friendly garden and can be cut for a vase or floral bouquet. Your Spangled Astrantia major Collection comprises ‘Venice’ with its dark, blackberry purple blooms, dotted by white (H: 75cm S: 45cm), Award of Garden Merit holder, ‘Roma’ in exuberant shades of pink with veined accents (H&S: 60cm); and subsp. involucrata ‘Shaggy’ with white, ruffled resplendence accented by hints of lime (H: 75cm S: 40cm).
