Your ‘Sensible Salvia Collection’ comprises; microphylla ‘Royal Bumble’ AGM - vibrant red flowers emerge from purple-flushed stems, height 75cm, spread 60cm, hardy to -10°C; microphylla ‘Viola's Darling’ – velvety, purple-maroon blooms, height 60cm, spread 45cm, hardy to -10°C; guaranitica ‘Black and Blue’ – large dark blue tubular blooms are held by near black calyces, height 1.5-2.5m, spread 1m, hardy to -5°C; microphylla ‘Gletsjer’ – clear white blooms, height and spread 1m, hardy to -10°C; nemorosa ‘Pink Beauty’ – spikes of small, rose-pink blooms, height and spread 50cm, hardy to -20°C; and nemorosa ‘Caradonna’ AGM - masses of small, iridescent, violet blue blooms held on strong, dark purple stems, height and spread 60cm, fully hardy to -20°C and below. Salvia prefer a site with a southerly or westerly aspect which enjoys sunshine for most or part of the day.
