Tell Me More...
An exciting newcomer to the scabious range, Scabious Focal Scoop Dark Purple is a mouth-wateringly beautiful, ball-shaped flower which grows up to 3.5cm across. Developed in response to the cut flower market, we have secured some of these spectacular plants so you can now grow you very own cutting garden at home. Equally suited to cultivating in herbaceous borders, containers or gravel gardens the rich, juicy colours will not disappoint. Blooming from July to September for up to 3 months of frilly, frothy flowers in rich blackcurrant purple, edged with a paler, frosted pink and hugging a tightly packed cluster of pinhead buds (which give a nod to the common name, Pincushion flower). Loved by bees and other pollinators, these really are a treat for the eyes. Plant Scabiosa Focal Scoop Lavender in well-drained soil with full sun. A half-hardy, herbaceous perennial which reaches a height of 90cm and spreads up to 50cm. Protect plants from frost over winter, either by lifting or mulching.
