A magical new introduction, Saxifraga fortunei ‘Sibyll Trelawney’ has been named after the character from the Harry Potter series. Striking, lush, herbaceous foliage with pink undersides, is rounded and lobed, becoming flushed with reddish-bronze shades in autumn. In late summer and into autumn, small, bright pink, star-shaped flowers are held on slender stems, creating a soft, ethereal look that contrasts beautifully with the darker foliage. Saxifraga are renowned for their delicate and intricate appearance. Originating from East Asia, particularly Japan and China, they thrive in shady, moist environments, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens or shaded borders. Relatively low-maintenance, requiring well-drained, humus-rich soil with a consistent moisture, Saxifraga is known for its resilience, withstanding cold temperatures down to -15° C and adding a touch of elegance to the garden even in the cooler months.
