Pearly pink blooms punctuate dark stems Salvias are a plant collectors dream and Salvia x jamensis 'Peter Vidgeon' is one of the very best. The unique pearly, lilac-pink colour of the flowers that appear from late spring to autumn is a sight to behold. Very easy to grow, drought tolerant and excellent for containers and borders, the small, rounded, aromatic leaves are evergreen, staying on the plant all year round. Salvia originally came from Mexico and make a brilliant addition to contemporary planting schemes, traditional cottage gardens and Mediterranean or prairie designs. Preferring to be gown in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil. Given the prestigious Award of Garden Merit for outstanding garden performance, Salvia x jamensis 'Peter Vidgeon' reaches a mature height of 60-90cm, spreading to 50-60cm. A hardy perennial with an RHS hardiness rating of H5, winter protection would only be required if temperatures dip below -15 C.
