Tell Me More...
An exciting new arrival for 2025. This compact beauty has large, open-mouthed blooms in sweet shades of pink and pinky purple to illuminate your borders, rockeries and containers from May to October each year. Held on long, strong stems, flowers enhance the bushy, silvery green foliage beneath. Furthermore, leaves will release an herby scent when brushed past or touched, making Salvia ‘Strawberry Melba’ ideal for planting alongside a path or near a seat so you and your visitors get the full impact of the joyous, pollinator friendly blooms, lush foliage and rich fragrance. Stems can also be cut for a vase inside your home. Salvia ‘Strawberry Melba’ likes a spot in full sun or partial shade with any aspect other than north facing. Happiest in well-drained soil, plants are drought tolerant once they have a good root structure. A semi-evergreen, hardy perennial which holds its foliage from March to November and tolerates temperatures down to between -5 and -10°C without additional winter protection. Matures to a height of 50cm with a spread of 40cm.
