Award winning cardinal red, scented beautyVibrant red flowers emerge from purple-flushed stems for an eye-catching display that lasts across 3 seasons. Salvia macrophylla 'Royal Bumble' is so versatile and floriferous that it holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Not only is it ideal for inland gardens, it is also tolerant of coastal conditions and will happily bloom in lightly dappled shade; making it one of this summer's must have plants.Great for weed-suppressing groundcover, its drought tolerance also makes it ideal for a gravel or Mediterranean garden. A hardy perennial that tolerates temperatures as low as -10C.Prefers a site with a southerly or westerly aspect which enjoys sunshine for part of the day. Flowers are produced from March to November in milder parts of the UK, and will attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators into your garden. 'Royal Bumble' reaches a height of 75cm with a spread of 60cm. Ensure that the growing medium is moist and well-drained. Remember to prune back individual stems once flowers have passed to ensure continual flowers throughout the growing season.
