Tell Me More...
A profusion of upright, clump-forming, aromatic foliage emerges in March and is retained through to November. In June these grey-green leaves are topped by spikes of rose-pink flowers which intensify to reddish purple as they near the base of the stems. All this makes Salvia nemorosa ‘Pink Beauty’ an intriguing and colourful inclusion in borders, containers and dry gardens. Watch with delight as pollinators visit flowers in succession, making stems bob and sway as each is selected in turn. Blooms also make a beautiful inclusion in a vase to bring colour and fragrance into your home. Salvia nemorosa ‘Pink Beauty’ prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which does not need winter protection throughout most of the UK and tolerates temperatures as low as -20°C. Deadhead faded flower stems to prolong the season and cut back plants once the foliage has faded, plants will return afresh the following spring.
