Salvia greggii 'Naomy Tree' is a shrubby salvia which bears large, pretty, soft pink flowers from late summer to autumn. Falling somewhere between evergreen and semi-evergreen (depending on winter temperatures) it can be used to add lush foliage and elegant colour to borders and containers. Like all salvias it mixes well with a huge range of plants. We particularly love seeing it with other late-season perennials such as nepeta, persicaria, verbena, penstemon and miscanthus, for a dreamy, colourful display taking us through to autumn. For best results grow in a sunny spot in moist, well-draining, moderately fertile soil, and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Salvia greggii 'Naomy Tree' is hardy to around -5 C, so may need protection during a particularly cold winter. This can take the form of fleece or a dry mulch, as well as leaving the dead stems intact until spring for added insulation. We also recommend taking cuttings as an added insurance policy.
