Tell Me More...
Salvia microphylla ‘Delice Ondine’ is sure to delight. Alluring, aromatic, semi-evergreen foliage releases a sumptuous sage scent when brushed against. Plant near a path or a seat so you can sit back and watch with pleasure as our pollinating friends visit for a feast from June to November, whilst you enjoy the fresh fragrance which is released whenever the foliage is disturbed. The word Salvia is derived from the Latin 'salvere' meaning 'to save' as it has been used medicinally for centuries – microphylla derives from the latin word for small leaves. Salvia microphylla ‘Delice Ondine’ has been rated as H4 by the RHS, meaning that winter protection will only be required should temperatures dip to -10°C. Happy in either borders or containers, Salvia should be grown in well-drained soil and placed in a sunny or partially shaded spot where a mature height and spread of around 70-80cm will be reached.
