Masses of elegant, subtle blooms From summer to autumn, Salvia Cool Cream bears large, creamy-white flowers with the merest hint of blush pink, contrasted against dark purple stems and calyces. Cool Cream was introduced in 2019 as part of the So Cool range, bred for a higher quantity of flowers per plant. Its semi-evergreen foliage forms a dense, compact bush, ideal for the front of a border or container display. Like all salvias Cool Cream is valued for its long flowering period and nectar-rich blooms. Its pale flowers make wonderful, bright accents amongst other planting, and are particularly eye catching in the low light of the evening. Try planting near a sundowner seating area with Jasminum officinale f. affine, Brugmansia White, and Hesperis matronalis; all at their most luminous, scented best at dusk. For best results grow in a sunny, sheltered spot in well-draining, moderately fertile soil. Salvia Cool Cream is hardy to between -10 C and -15 C, so should overwinter easily in most UK gardens. Delay cutting back until new growth emerges in spring for the added insulation this offers the crown. H: 80cm S: 50cm.
