An exceptionally pretty perennial which grows into a substantial, shrubby bush over three or four years reaching 80cm in height with a spread of 60cm. Salvia microphylla ‘Angel Wings’ offers two-toned pastel pink flowers from May right through to October time. Foliage emerges in March, remaining until October time. If you garden in milder parts of the UK, it may be retained all year, though plants will greatly benefit from being cut back in early spring to maintain the bushy nature of the leaves. Salvia microphylla ‘Angel Wings’ is ideal for containers or open ground and will draw in bees, butterflies along with a multitude of other pollinators. If planted at the edge of a path or near a seat, then foliage will release its aromatic oils whenever it is brushed past for amplified impact. Prefers well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Plant in any soil except heavy clay and locate with any aspect other than north facing. A hardy (H4) perennial which may need some protection over winter in very cold areas.
