Tell Me More...
Rudbeckia triloba 'Prairie Glow' brings masses of small, black-eyed flowers in shades of reddish orange with blazing yellow tips. This unusual and exciting rudbeckia offers unique flowers - where no two will look alike – giving an incredible, multi-coloured, torch-like impact. As each bloom matures the red softly blends lending a magical colour-shifting spectrum to the garden. A perfect addition to other autumn hues to lift and enhance the rich tapestry at this time of year. Large flowers, much loved by bees and butterflies, appear in abundance commencing in July, lasting right through to the first frosts. Blooms are also excellent for cutting to bring into your home or use in a floral display - adding a warming welcome inside your home. Although often grown as an annual, Rudbeckia triloba 'Prairie Glow' is a deer resistant, herbaceous, hardy perennial which will die back over winter and return the following spring. Prefers to be grown in well-drained soil, which is clay or loam based, in a position of full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect. Matures to a height of 90cm-1.2m with a 45-70cm spread.
