Tell Me More...
Rosemary 'Ginger' is a less well-known variety of this popular Mediterranean herb with an underlying accent of ginger to accompany the rosemary flavour and scent. Whilst some combination flavours, or hybrid herbs, are not desirable this upright shrub works wonders and will elevate your cooking with a touch of warming spice alongside the classical rosemary flavour! Use it for syrups and stews as well as roasted meats and give your dishes an unusual twist. When growing in a pot, herb garden or border Rosemary 'Ginger' is also sure to stop you in your tracks as you search for the source of its unusual scent. This hardy, evergreen perennial is adorned with beautiful blue flowers from May to September each year and the narrow foliage offers excellent ground-covering, drought tolerant interest too. Plant your Rosemary 'Ginger' in a site which replicates the Mediterranean home from which it hales - this means well-drained soil in full sun. Plants will grow to a maximum height of 30cm with a spread of 40cm.
