Tell Me More...
A large, vigorous climber, Rosa 'Compassion' bears large, rounded, fully double, coral pink flowers (up to 10cm across) with a strong, pleasantly sweet scent. Growth is strong, stiff, and bushy, ideal for training against a wall, fence, pergola, or pillar. Foliage is dark green and plentiful and known to have excellent disease resistance. Stems have large, striking red thorns, and are sufficiently sturdy to make good cut flowers. 'Compassion' is a repeat flowering rose, blooming from July right through to September and sometimes beyond. So valued is this variety that the RHS has bestowed an Award of Garden Merit on it for its outstanding and reliable performance in the garden.Roses will tolerate a wide range of conditions, though prefer an open site in full sun, and moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil. Rosa 'Compassion' is known for being tolerant of slightly shadier conditions too. A hardy, deciduous shrub which reaches a height of 3m and spreads up to 2.5m.
