A recently developed newcomer to the rhubarb market which is both visually attractive and makes for delicious eating. The stems are a vibrant raspberry red both inside and out and have a sweet and succulent flavour that is ideal for jams, crumbles and even savoury dishes. An early cropper that needs an open sunny site to thrive and dislikes being moved once established. Autumn is the ideal time to plant this delicious crop as rhubarb crowns benefit from a cold spell to prompt them out of dormancy in the spring. Once shoots emerge, keep your plant well-watered and add a generous mulch of manure each spring as rhubarb is a hungry plant that will reward your early efforts manifold.
