Azalea mollis Parfumollis Yellow is an unusual, exciting newcomer with pink-tinged buds which emerge and develop into trumpet-shaped, yellow blooms from March to June each year. Flowers have a sweet, intoxicating perfume which is irresistible to pollinators. This particular variety has excellent leaf retention and may well be evergreen in milder winters or throughout parts of the UK less prone to harsh weather. As with all azalea and rhododendron, plants like a spot with humus-rich, moist yet well-drained soil which is slightly acidic and has some protection from cold, drying winds. If your soil is alkaline then plant in a container of ericaceous compost and feed accordingly throughout the growing year. Plants in the ground will benefit from an annual ericaceous mulch too. Ensure your Azalea mollis Parfumollis Yellow is located where it can enjoy either full sun or partial shade and it will reward you by reaching a height of up to 1.5m and a spread of 1m.
