Reliable, spine-free floricane Favoured by professional and home growers alike, Raspberry ‘Glen Ample’ is a summer-fruiting variety with large, succulent, deep red berries. It is known for its reliably high yields of firm fruite which stores well after picking (often over 2kg per plant). Expect to be picking from ‘Glen Ample’ from late June to late July. One of the shorter raspberries available, ‘Glen Ample’ is an excellent choice for smaller spaces and growing in containers. Support with posts and wires if growing in the ground, or bamboo canes for large tubs. Raspberries are wonderfully easy to prune using one of two simple techniques, depending on the type. Summer-fruiting raspberries should be cut down on a cane-by-cane basis as each finishes fruiting. Autumn-fruiting raspberries can be left alone until February, when the whole lot is cut down in one go.
