Tell Me More...
A classical, sophisticated favourite native to east Asia and south east Europe. Unmistakeable for its intense and captivating scent. Flowers emerge in May and last through to the end of July - offering richly coloured panicles of blooms on strong stems ideal for vases and bouquets. Rapturous Syringa Collection brings you three wonderful shrubs in different colours. Plant together so the heart-shaped foliage can mingle and merge from March to November, whilst blooms amicably tussle to outshine each other. Alternatively, plant as a focal point in a container or sunny border where each has its separate moment in the limelight.Your trio of Syringa comprises: vulgaris 'Andenken an Ludwig Spth' - AGM holding and much prized for its wine-red to purple blooms up to 30cm long, reaches a height and spread of 4m; vulgaris 'Beauty of Moscow' - double blooms which emerge pinkish-lilac and mature to white, retaining the palest pink blush, grows up to 4m tall with a spread of 3m; and vulgaris 'Belle de Nancy' with delightful mauve-pink flowers and a smaller height and spread of 2.5m x 2m.Rapturous Syringa Collection prefers a fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Fully hardy and hardy, deciduous shrubs which will benefit from an annual, springtime mulch.
