Perfect for introducing movement and feathery texture, Stipa tenuissima 'Ponytails' is a versatile and invaluable ornamental grass.With a spread of 30cm and height of 60cm, Stipa tenuissima 'Ponytails' will not dominate your borders or swamp other plants as some larger grasses can - it can be used to unite many planting schemes with its light and airy quality.Also known as Angels Hair or Mexican Feather Grass, this Stipa produces semi-evergreen wispy foliage and flowers, emerging green and fading beautifully to sun-bleached blonde as the summer months heat up.Great for a sun-baked garden and drought tolerant, Stipa tenuissima 'Ponytails' thrives in fertile, well-drained soil. In late spring, comb through the grass gently with your fingers to remove any dead foliage and allow new shoots to emerge. Looks stunning with taller heat loving plants growing up through the buff-coloured tufts - combine with Verbena bonariensis, Echinacea, Alliums, and Gaura.
