Tell Me More...
Agapanthus are beautiful African Lilies with striking, large, round clusters of trumpet shaped flowers. Standing tall on strong, sturdy stems, Agapanthus make superb cut flower displays to enjoy in your home, lasting up to two weeks in a vase.Agapanthus are stunning border plants which are eye-catching planted in groups; particularly when grown in containers as a feature, or on your patio or balcony. Flowering from July to September, Agapanthus flowers sit upon vibrant, green, semi-evergreen strappy foliage with little or no winter protection required - unless it is the coldest of winters.Native to South Africa, hence the common name, African lily, Agapanthus are happy in borders and containers and grown well in coastal areas, fully able to cope with salty, see breezes. The name Agapanthus comes from the Greek words for flower and love, hence the other common name Flower of Love.Agapanthus prefer to be grown in well-drained soil and full sun for the best display.
