Primula veris is a clump forming, pollinator friendly native flower which will naturalise in open ground and create welcoming colour in pots and baskets. A national favourite which encapsulates the arrival of spring and can be seen in hedgerows and verges where it grows wild. It lends buttery tones and a fruity, apricot-like scent to you planting through March to May.Plant with narcissus and bluebells for a dreamy woodland impact or with dwarf iris and muscari for a more orchestrated effect. In ancient times the plant was traditionally used to treat sleeping problems as it is said to have a sedative quality, as well as the flowers being used to help treat coughs.Primula veris prefers moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade.
