Tell Me More...
Barnhaven are world renowned primrose breeders who produce some of the most spectacular varieties available today. Established in the 1930s and producing a wide range of double primula since the 1950s with new varieties being developed all the time. Primula Barnhaven 'Double Crme du Tregor' was introduced in 2016 and offers abundant clusters of fully double flowers held on sturdy, pink stems. With a soft, creamy colour - flowers are reminiscent of clotted cream. Foliage has an intriguing, crinkled texture and grows as generous rosettes which offer weed-suppressing ground cover all year round. Often considered one of the harbingers of spring (indeed 'primula' comes from the Latin for 'the very first'), primroses are invaluable to early flying pollinators, when sources of nectar are scarce. 'Double Crme du Tregor' is ideal for planting beneath trees and shrubs or in a container display.Primula Barnhaven 'Double Crme du Tregor' likes a spot in moisture retentive, humus rich soil which benefits from partial shade. A hardy evergreen perennial which reaches a height and spread of 20cm.
