An outstanding ensemble of clump-forming perennials with large, ovate, semi-evergreen leaves. Perfect for pollinators - the bees and butterflies absolutely adore penstemon, with their open, tubular flowers allowing ready access to nectar (and pollen). A handy hint to maintain the vigour of these perennials, is to deadhead as the flowers fade so that further flowering stems are produced, and energy is not put into producing seed. However, do not be tempted to cut right down before the winter, leave the top growth on plants until spring for protection. Your ‘Popsy Penstemon Collection’ comprises Pensham ‘Eleanor Young’ in ruby red, damson purple and white, H: 1m S: 60cm; Pensham ‘Laura’ in fuchsia pink and white, H: 90cm S: 60cm; and ‘Alice Hindley’ in mauve and white, H: 1m S: 60cm. All will bring upward movement to herbaceous borders, containers and gravel gardens with a drought tolerant ability once a good root structure is established.
