Polemonium yezoense ‘Halfway to Paradise’ is a striking perennial known for its lush foliage and vibrant blooms. A member of the Polemoniaceae family, this plant is often referred to as Jacob's Ladder due to its pinnate leaf arrangement that resembles the biblical ladder. The cultivar ‘Halfway to Paradise’ is particularly noted for its deep green leaves that form a dense, attractive mound. In June and July, clusters of white, bell-shaped blossoms with lavender centres are produced, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. The flowers rise above the foliage on slender stems, adding a vertical element to garden designs. Polemonium yezoense ‘Halfway to Paradise’ thrives in a sunny spot or partial shade, making it an excellent choice for edges of woodland gardens, partially shady borders, and underplanting for shrubs and trees.
