Easy to grow, Penstemon thrive in borders and containers, are not bothered by soil conditions and are perfectly content in either sun or partial shade. Once mature, Penstemon flourish in drought or rain, have built-in resistance to slugs and other garden pests, but are loved by our friendly pollinators. Priceless for summer and autumn colour, Penstemon flower non-stop from May through to November and often later. Collection comprises; ‘Alice Hindley’ – height 1m; ‘Amelia Jayne’ – height 90cm; ‘Apple Blossom’ – height 80cm; ‘Catherine de la Mare’ – height 60cm; ‘Eleanor Young’ – height 1m; ‘Heavenly Blue’ – height 60cm; ‘Maurice Gibb’ – height 80cm; ‘Plum Jerkum’ – height 75cm; ‘Raven’ – height 1m; ‘Rich Ruby’ – height 90cm ; ‘Sour Grapes’ – height 75cm; and ‘Westminster Belle’ – height 80cm. Penstemon prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. All in this collection are hardy to around -10°C, so should not require winter protection.
