Pittosporum tenuifolium Elizabeth (Tawhiwi)For impact, you must grow Pittospermum Elizabeth. An evergreen shrub with pale green foliage edged in cream and pink. In the early summer 'Elizabeth' produces small purple flowers with a delicate sublime fragrance. The light green, cream, pink, and perfume combine to create a sensory joy. A shrub which naturally forms a spherical shape as it grows, Pittosporum tenuifolium Elizabeth adds shape and texture to the garden. Excellent when planted as hedging or clipped into globes or shapes as you might with Box, this Pittosporum works well in virtually any garden design. Evergreen Pittosporum are hardy though may need some protection in the form of fleecing in the event of a very harsh winter.Plant Pittosporum tenuifolium Elizabeth in well-drained soil of any type and it will reach an eventual height and spread of 400cm x 250cm in a sunny or partially shaded site.Perfect in any formal or traditional planting scheme, or extra-large pot for year-round interest.
