A remarkable addition to your summer planting, Phlox paniculata 'Blue Paradise' has beguiling clusters of double, mauve-purple blooms which are carried above domed foliage all summer long and release the most wonderful, sweet perfume. Phlox are cottage garden favourites which settle and establish themselves in almost any planting scheme. Originating in North America, Phlox were introduced to Europe in the 1700s. The name itself stems from the Greek word for 'flame' - perhaps because they stand out like torches in the borders from July to September each year (with foliage borne from April onwards).
