Philotheca myoporoides Flower Girl White is a splendid variety for your garden. Aromatic waxy dark green foliage with pink buds open into start-shaped white flowers from April to July. The star-shaped blooms produce a delicate sweet fragrance, the foliage is rich in juniper and lemon oils creating a perfume similar to a Gin & Tonic, turning the whole plant into a perfume factory. The white flowers are emphasised by the bottle-green foliage, a magnificent visual delight in the warm sunlight. The long-lasting flowers are valued by florists and are admired for use in vases and bouquets. Philotheca myoporoides Flower Girl White favours a protected garden spot with moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Philotheca are half-hardy shrub tolerating temperatures down to -5 degrees, preferring shelter from cold winds and hard frosts. For the first two years this shrub requires watering once or twice per week when the soil becomes dry. Once maturity is reached the plant becomes tolerant of drought. Achieving a full height and spread of 1.5m after 10 years.
