Tell Me More...
Although smaller in size than other petunia Petunia hybrida ‘Itsy Magenta’ certainly packs a punch in the colour stakes with its rich and attractively marked flowers from June to September. A self-cleaning variety which means no deadheading – simply sweep up the spent flowers to keep things looking tidy. Perfect for edging borders or lining pathways, Petunia hybrida ‘Itsy Magenta’ is equally well-suited to baskets, containers and window boxes where foliage and flowers will trail by around 40cm to add graceful mounds of colour to the garden. Plants grow to a mature height of 15cm with a spread of 30cm so will not overly dominate in smaller gardens, where their petite blooms will come to the fore. Plant in moist, well-drained soil which is loam or sand based. Once established ‘Itsy Magenta’ is drought tolerant and prefers a spot in full sun with any aspect other than north facing. A tender perennial which is most frequently grown as an annual throughout the UK.
