Tell Me More...
A relatively new introduction to the world of trailing annual plants, Petchoa ‘BeautiCal Red Maple’ is a hybrid development which takes the best qualities from its parents, Calibrachoa and Petunia. Plants produce a proliferation of trumpet shaped blooms which are a lot less sticky to touch than the parents. Flowers are smaller in size than petunias, yet produced in such numbers they are still able to pack a colourful punch. The open faced flowers provide a fantastic feast for bees, butterflies and other pollinators who are drawn in by the aromatic, sweet fragrance. Blooms are extremely weatherproof and will fill hanging baskets, window boxes and pots with cascading flowers – trailing by as much as 40cm – for a robust and showy display. Plant Petchoa ‘BeautiCal Red Maple’ in moist, well-drained soil which is loam or sand based. Position in full sun or partial shade and remember to deadhead for continual supplies of these jubilant blooms. A tender bedding plant which reaches a height
