Shade loving Persicaria bistorta Superba provides vertical interest to your garden. Long, wiry stems hold a plethora of small, soft-pink flowers which form pom-pom-like flowerheads from midsummer to early autumn; much to the delight of your local pollinating friends. Held above carpets of handsome, leafy, heart-shaped foliage which makes excellent weed-suppressing groundcover. In autumn, the green foliage gains golden yellow tints.Commonly known as Mountain Fleece, Persicaria is native to the Himalayas.Persicara bistorta Superba has received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden, the blooms make excellent displays when cut for your home, lasting well in a vase.Persicaria Superba is deer and rabbit resistant, happy in sun or part shade and prefers to be grown in moist soil in sun or part shade Perfect also for a bog garden or near a pond. Reaching an approximate height of 90cm (36") and spread of 90cm (36"). Being a fully hardy perennial, Suparba will flourish outside all year round with no extra winter protection required; dying back over winter to sprout again in spring.
