Persicaria affinis 'Superba' creates a carpet-like mat of semi-evergreen, dense, lush green foliage which helps to keep moisture in the soil while preventing weeds from taking hold. In autumn it takes on incredible shades of bronze and red. From June to October, charming flower stems up to 8cm long rise above, and become densely packed with tiny, pale flowers that darken to crimson red as they mature. The blooms make long-lasting additions to small arrangements and posies, and are loved by bees and other pollinators for their refreshing nectar. Happy in both containers and borders, Persicaria affinis ‘Superba’ has been given the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for outstanding performance in the garden. Also known as Bistorta, Persicaria affinis 'Superba' will reach a mature height of around 25cm and spread to 90cm. Classified as H7 by the RHS, a fully hardy perennial to -20°C, reaching a mature height of 25c, spreading up to around 90cm. Plant in a sunny or partly shaded p
