With its sweet, spicy scent - Narcissus ‘Flower Drift’ boasts large blooms, with a double layer of ivory-white outer petals, holding a ruffled heart of tangerine. Bulbs are happy naturalising and creating drifts of double delight. This breath-taking daffodil, first registered in 1966, blooms in March and April on wonderfully long stems, up to 40cm tall. An excellent variety for cutting due to its stem length, intriguing beauty, and delectable fragrance with echoes of hyacinths. Be sure to condition the stems in cool water overnight if you plan to add cut blooms to a mixed display as the stems leak a sap when first cut which can affect the vase-life of other flowers. Plant your bulbs in autumn, in a sunny spot on well-drained soil of any type. Plant at a depth of 10cm to ensure a glorious display next spring. Narcissus ‘Flower Drift’ is a generous ‘Double’ variety which looks fabulous as clumps or drifts in borders, containers and through lawns. Deer and rabbit resistant, narcissus prefer to be grown in sun or partial shade, with this variety needing some protection from a north facing aspect. Hardy (H6) bulbous perennials which do not need additional winter protection when in the ground.
